DescriptionA Meissen Hausmalerei chinoiserie milk jug and cover of pear-shape from the Hosennestel service painted by the Hausmalerin Sabina Auffenwerth in Augburg. It has Chinoiserie figures on terraces within elaborate Laub-und-Bandelwerk and Gitterwerk cartouches flanked by Chinoiserie figures in gold on tasselled supports beneath baldacchini in puce, iron-red and gold, with similar vignettes on the cover. There are bouquets of indianische Blumen beneath the spout and flanking the gilt handle and with a border of gilt scrollwork closely similar to that used at Meissen.
